A Note From Executive Artistic Director Wilhelmina Frankfurt
Dear Friends and Patrons,
Welcome to our production of A Christmas Carol! This beloved story by Charles Dickens continues to remind us of the power of compassion, generosity, and transformation — timeless values that resonate deeply, especially during the holiday season.
There are so many people to thank who have worked tirelessly to bring this Stapleton Classic back to our community. Their dedication, creativity, and joy reflect the true spirit of SSPA — one built on collaboration, artistry, and a shared love of storytelling.
Please join me in welcoming Jenny Boynton, our Director for this production and as the new Managing Director of SSPA. With her leadership, and our strong dance and theatre team, we are poised to strengthen our Musical Theatre Conservatory Training and the Stapleton Theater Company. Keep an eye out for workshops with the pros and exciting new opportunities ahead!
As you watch this performance, may you be reminded of the warmth and hope that come from opening our hearts to one another. Thank you for supporting our performers — young and older — and for helping us keep the magic of live theatre alive in Marin.
God bless you, everyone! Wilhelmina Frankfurt
A Note From A Christmas Carol Director Jenny Boynton
I am honored and humbled to be at the helm of Stapleton’s A Christmas Carol. I have been part of this cherished tradition since it began in 2010, and I have been ready to step into the director’s role since the show’s pause in 2018.
Multi-generational theatre lies at the heart of community theatre. It brings together professionals and first-timers, children and adults, those with little time to spare and those who dedicate themselves fully to the stage—all uniting to create something meaningful together.
A Christmas Carol is a timeless reflection of humanity at its best. It tells the story of a man, trapped in his own selfishness, who is guided by the people in his life to rediscover what truly matters. As Scrooge journeys through his past, present, and future, we journey with him—experiencing laughter, fear, and hope along the way. The show blends holiday spirit, genuine emotion, comedy, and a touch of theatre magic.
The lyric that resonates most deeply with me is: “Families created by friendship as well as by birth.” That line captures who we are at Stapleton Theatre Company—a true family, brought together by shared passion and love for the arts.
