Sandra “Sandi” Veronica Weldon
Sandi was a dancer, teacher, performer, and visionary whose passion shaped generations. She performed memorably as the Blind Old Hag and the Ghost of Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol, and brought joy and truth to every role she played.
As a teacher, she inspired countless young artists — including Jenny Boynton, Director of this very show. Sandi introduced theatre to the Ross Valley School District, planting the seeds of what would become The YES Foundation, and shared her love of dance as the tap and musical theatre instructor at College of Marin.
Most importantly, Sandi founded Town Players, which has grown into Stapleton Theatre Company, the vibrant community we celebrate today. We gather here in gratitude for her vision, her artistry, and her enduring spirit.
As Sandi once sang as Mama Rose in Gypsy:
“Some people can be content,
Playing bingo and paying rent…
That’s peachy for some people…
But some people ain’t me.”Sandi wasn’t “some people.” She was extraordinary. And because of her, so are we.
William “Billy” McDaneld
1969-2020
A beloved longtime member of Stapleton Theatre Company, Billy brought boundless humor, heart, and joy to every performance. As part of the ensemble in A Christmas Carol, he reminded us all of the magic of being alive and together as a community.
Always a beacon of warmth — with a hug ready for everyone — Billy’s favorite moment came when Tiny Tim announced that it was snowing. And as it snows today at the end of our show, we feel Billy with us still — laughing, dancing, spreading joy and possibly missing his entrance, just as he always did.
Olive Koren
2010-2025
Olive has been part of our theatre community — and our A Christmas Carol family — since she was probably too young to be in the show. Always arriving with a bright smile, a kind word, and an infectious laugh, she brought joy both onstage and off, filling every room with warmth and laughter.
Olive was a radiant presence — positive, kind, and full of life. Though her time with us was far too short, her impact was immeasurable. We wish she’d had more time to blossom into all she could be, but we are deeply grateful for who she was and for every moment we shared with her.
