The Stapleton Ballet presents a 25th Anniversary Season with the Premiere of Swan Lake
The Stapleton School of Performing Arts, founded in San Anselmo in 1988 by former San Francisco Ballet Dancer Virginia Stapleton, celebrates this milestone with a lavish new production of the crown jewel of classical ballet: Swan Lake.
Stapleton's dramatic four-act setting of this masterpiece features opulent costumes and scenery. Performed to one of Tchaikovsky's most memorable scores, this powerful tale of love's triumph over evil follows Prince Siegfried as he attempts to rescue his beloved Odette from the vengeful Von Rothbart, who has cast a spell on the young beauty and turned her into his Swan Queen.
Professional guest performers will join nearly one-hundred dancers from the Stapleton Ballet Youth Company in this magnificent production. This event is not to be missed, including a gala reception to celebrate the silver anniversary of the Stapleton School, Marin County's largest performing arts organization.
