Janelle's dance training experience is locally rooted, having done much of her training with Marin Ballet, and then continuing her training as a dance major at Sonoma State University. She studied ballet, modern, and jazz, and choreographed and danced in numerous pieces while at SSU. She danced professionally for SSU's opera company, performing in the company's production of "Candide". Janelle's teaching experience includes elementary level ballet at the North Bay Christian School in San Rafael. She has been teaching children, teen, and adult divisions with the Stapleton School for seven years. Janelle's four children have all danced and performed with school, and she has performed in several productions of the school's Nutcracker
