The always-magical Stapleton Ballet Nutcracker shines brighter than ever this year! In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the timeless tale of Clara and her wondrous adventures with the Nutcracker prince will have an exciting, fresh new look. Artist and designer Nick Cann, who started his career as a set illustrator with MGM Studios four decades ago, teams with Virginia Stapleton to create a dazzling new look for the lavish and authentic Victorian holiday party scene that opens the story. Highlights of Clara’s act two journey to the Land of the Sugar Plum Fairy include a new look for the Chinese and Arabian variations. Both will feature new choreography by Stapleton with rich, colorful new costumes. This vibrant production flows seamlessly and is designed to engage young and old, from start to finish. Young imaginations will soar and all ages will be dazzled by inspired dancing, stunning imagery and beautifully crafted sets and costumes. The cast features over 150 talented and energetic dancers from the Stapleton School of the Performing Arts, as well as professional guest artists. In honor of our twentieth anniversary we are pleased to offer a special student/senior rate of just $16! Costumed characters will greet children in the lobby after 1:00 p.m. shows.
